to our County team who won a three way play off
at the Richmond Club to win this season's Three
Cities title for the first time since 2003-04. The
scores over 5 legs were Hereford 473, Worcester
450 and Gloucester 435.

Congratulations
to Rob Weale, who won a Commonwealth Games
gold medal in the men's bowls singles after
beating Australia's Leif Selby in a thrilling
three-set final in Delhi.
Rob commented
afterwards "It's an absolutely fantastic
moment for me. Obviously you dream of winning
gold, but I've had a couple of goes at it
now in the singles, & it's 3rd time
lucky for me. I've had bronze in 2002, silver
in 2006, & now gold.
This is the icing on the cake, I'm over
the moon. He added, "I've been World
Indoors Champion, & I've had Commonwealth
gold before in the fours but with so many
near misses - I've had three silvers in
the Commonwealths which ended in defeat
to the Aussies - I've finally put one accross
on them" |
