Max's Knights
Winter team
Formed in 2007/08 as ‘One 2 Many’ and playing from K’s Pool Club, promotion was achieved in their debut season, having finished in 2nd place.
Two further seasons in division 4, before an ‘administrative error’ after the completion of the 2009/10 season, resulted in the team having to reform and start out afresh from division 5 - this time, as ‘Phoenix Nights’.
The 2010/11 season saw the Nights go on to achieve 4 consecutive promotions and claim back-to-back league titles on 3 of those occasions.
Having left the fortress of the Cotterrel Arms after it closed its doors for the final time after the 2013/14 season, the Nights started life in division 1 playing between the Potting Shed and Snooker Centre for a few seasons, before finally settling at their new home, The Victory.
After seven seasons in division 1, the Nights were relegated to division 2 at the end of the 2021/22 season.
At the start of 2024/25, the Nights switched alley’s and now call home The Brewers Arms (whilst playing at the Q Club when fixtures clashed).
For the 2025/26 season, the team’s name changed to ‘Max’s Knights’ in memory of Max Magness, who had played with the lads since 2014. Sadly, Max passed away in April 2025
